Why the King's Arms?

For at least a hundred and fifty years, a pub named the King's Arms stood where the Morley Gallery now is in London. Although we may not be able to travel back to the time when the pub was open, we can listen to sounds from other pubs still open in London today which are also named the King's Arms.

Ten different pubs in London all named the King's Arms were visited and sounds were recorded.

As part of the Engine Room exhibition at the Morley Gallery in June 2022, The King's Arms piece by Jodi Crisp was exhibited. If you waved your hand over the beer mats, sounds of the King's Arms could be heard.
